SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

The Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London (UCL) is offering PhD excellence scholarship to an exceptional graduate student to perform research in any area where the department is active. The scholarship aims at providing exceptional opportunities to new research students to undertake a PhD program at a world-class research institution.

Duration of the Scholarship: The PhD scholarship is provided for up to 4 years.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to apply for the PhD excellence scholarships offered by University College London,

  1. Applicants should have excellent academic records with preference given to students who can demonstrate financial need.
  2. Applicants must have or be expected to obtain an Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) degree from a UK MEng level programme or its equivalent in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, physics or an associated discipline.
  3. The ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment that tackles questions across various fields of Chemical Engineering is expected. 
  4. Effective written and verbal communication skills, good time-management, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a team are essential.

NOTE: The studentship covers full fees at the UK rate only. Overseas students are welcome to apply, however they will need to be able to top-up the fees up to the overseas rate from another source.

  4. Candidates are strongly advised to contact a prospective supervisor and discuss their potential project well in advance of submitting their applications.
  5. Please complete the application steps by the deadline of 31-July-2021

Documents Required:

  1. A two-page CV
  2. A personal statement (max 500 words and indicating which supervisor you are nominating)
  3. Full grade transcript(s) for all degree(s) already obtained, and for all completed modules of currently in progress degrees
  4. Two letters of recommendation
