SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

KDDI Foundation is offering grant scholarships for the year 2022 and the applications are open for students who wish to apply for undergraduate or graduate degrees at the University of Tsukuba. The scholarships are provided to international students living in Japan who are engaged in research on information and communications or related matters

Number of Awards: KDDI Foundation scholarships are awarded to Approximately 10 people nationwide

Duration of the Scholarship: The duration of the scholarship is up to 6 months or 12 months

Benefits:

Selected candidates are benefited with a grant amount of 100,000 yen monthly. This amount can be used towards the tuition fee of the applied program at the university of Tsukuba.


APPLICATION DETAILS

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship offered by KDDI foundation for international students for the year 2022, applicants must meet the required eligibility criteria.

  1. Those who have foreign nationality with a study abroad status of residence can apply.
  2. Applicants must be under 35 years old as of April 1, 2022
  3. Applicants must have been enrolled and accepted into the applied program at the university.
  4. Those who are engaged in research on the theme of information and communication or related fields in the fields of law, politics, economy, society, culture, and technology.
  5. Those who have received a recommendation from a designated school can apply for the scholarship.

University and Course Details

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship applicants must be enrolled into one of the following programs at the University of Tsukuba.

  1. Master’s degree at a university (hereinafter referred to as “designated school”) for which the Foundation requests a recommendation at the time of application and throughout the grant period
  2. Those who are enrolled as regular students in the course or doctoral course (research students, prospective admissions / transfer students cannot apply)
  3. Those who are enrolled in the master’s program at a designated school and who will go on to the doctoral program at the beginning of the grant or during the grant period can apply. (Submit a certificate of enrollment after going on to school)
  4. Those who plan to enroll in a doctoral course for three years as of April 2022 are required to obtain a bachelor’s degree. “Recommendation letter for academic advisor”

    Please be sure to state that you are expected to obtain a degree

  1. Applicants must fill the application form and gather all the required documents.
  2. Mail the application forms and documents at isc-shien#@#un.tsukuba.ac.jp.
  3. Documents Required: Application Form 1, Application Form 2, letter of recommendation for academic advisor.
