SCHOLARSHIPS AT UNIVERSITY OF DUNDEE

As student loans are difficult to get if you are an international student, the next best thing is to apply for a Scholarship. A scholarship is, by Google’s definition: a grant or payment made to support a student’s education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievements. Meaning that if you excel at your studies and universities see proof of your achievements and drive to learn and progress in your field, they are likely to pay a portion, sometimes all, of your fees.  

The University of Dundee is one of the top universities in the UK to offer a plethora of scholarships for international students, both in and out of the EU. Here’s a list of the scholarships they offer and the criteria for eligibility:

The Alumni Scholarship offers international students up to £3,000 in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this Scholarship includes: 

  •  You have applied for a full-time postgraduate course.  
  • You or an immediate family member have previously completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee.  
  • You must be studying a full time, 180 credit, postgraduate taught over the course of one (1) year.  

The Bachelor Trust Scholarship offers international students £500 in financial aid. 

 Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  Being a first-year student at the University of Dundee.  
  • You are in danger of not completing your course due to financial hardship and/or personal circumstances from the following schools: 
    •  Duncan of Jordan stone College of Art and Design.  
    • School of Education and Social Work.  
    • School of Health Sciences.  
    • School of Humanities.  
    • School of Sciences and Engineering.  

The Global Citizenship Scholarship offers international students £5,000 per year of study in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You have been offered by the university to study full-time, on-campus either an undergraduate course or postgraduate course.  
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee. 

The Global Excellence Scholarship offers international students £6,000 per year of study in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

For an Undergraduate, you must:  

  •  Have an offer to study a full-time, on-campus undergraduate course in any of their schools.
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  
  • Have achieved BBB or above at A-Level, or equivalent to.  

For a Postgraduate, you must:  

  •  Have an offer to study a full-time, on-campus postgraduate taught course. 
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  
  • Have achieved either a 1st Class Honours degree or a degree equivalent to.  

The GREAT Scholarship offers students from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka £10,000 in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You hold a passport for one of the pre-mentioned countries.  
  • You have been offered by the university to study full-time, on-campus.
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  

The Humanitarian scholarship offers international students up to £40,000 per year of study for financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You must be able to provide evidence for your Refugee or Asylum Status or Humanitarian Protection.  
  • You must also have a full time, on-campus, undergraduate course offer with the university.  

The Jainti Dass Saggar Memorial Scholarship offers international students £5,000 in financial aid. Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You have accepted an offer to study an undergraduate course, full-time and on campus
  • Be a resident in India. 
  • Be a recipient of the Global Excellence Scholarship.  

The Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship offers students from Africa, the EU and South Asia £5,000 per year of study for financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You have an offer to study a full time, undergraduate course or a 180-credit postgraduate taught over the course of one (1) year.  
  • Be a resident in one of the pre-mentioned countries.  
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  

The Global Excellence Scholarships (Postgraduate) offers international students £5,000 in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You have an offer to study a full time, 180 credit, postgraduate taught over the course of one (1) year.  
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  
  • Have either a UK 1st Class Honours degree or a degree equivalent to.  

The International College Dundee Entrant Scholarship offers international students up to £4,500 per year of study for financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  Classified by the University of Dundee and Oxford International Education Group (OIEG) as an international student for tuition fees.  
  • Applicants must hold an offer for an ICD full-time programme.  
  • During their study of their full programme at ICD, students must have achieved either an average of ‘A’ grade throughout or at the end of their course.  

The South Asia/Africa/EU Scholarship (Postgraduate) offers students from South Asia, Africa or the EU £5,000 in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You must be studying a full time, 180 credit, postgraduate taught over the course of one (1) year.  
  • Be a resident in one of the pre-mentioned countries.  
  • Have International fee status, determined by the University of Dundee.  

The Global Citizen Scholarship offers international students £5,000 in financial aid.  

Eligibility for this scholarship includes:  

  •  You have been offered by the university to study full-time, on-campus either an undergraduate course or postgraduate course.  
  • You begin your course in the same year that the scholarship is offered.  
  • Have either a UK 1st Class Honours degree or a degree equivalent to.  
  • You are classified as ‘international’ when it comes to paying tuition fees.
