The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is looking ahead to globalise higher education. As a part of the initiative, the government and the University Grants Commission (UGC) have recommended that every university in the state should establish an on-campus Office of International Affair.

TAIWAN EDUCATION MINISTRY TO RECRUIT MORE FOREIGN ENGLISH TEACHERS

The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan plans to onboard more foreign English-language teachers for the public schools in the country this year. The drive is a part of the campaign to make Taiwan a bilingual nation by 2030. The foreign English teacher recruitment quota has been increased from 81 to 381 per year.

RECORD SURGE IN UNDERGRADUATE APPLICATIONS FOR DUKE UNIVERSITY

Despite the pandemic, the 2021-2022 academic year has been an exceptional one for Duke University. It has received 49,555 undergraduate applications, which translates into an exemplary rise of 25 percent from the last year, the largest year-to-year increase in the history of the school. The number stood at 39,717 in the last year.

NASA TO FUND INNOVATIVE CONCEPTS FOR CONTINUED STUDY

As a part of its vision to develop and study innovative approaches for exploring space, NASA has picked seven studies for additional funding under the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program. STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH $10 MILLION FOR ASHLAND UNIVERSITY

Ohio’s Ashland University has declared that Bob and Jan Archer have given a $10 million grant to support student scholarships. The grant is the largest one-time gift in the history of the university. It will fund four-year scholarships for students and extend support for student-retention initiatives, marketing, athletics, and capital improvements.
