THREE SCHOOLS FROM THE UK TO BE A PART OF GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT

Three UK schools, including St Joseph’s Preparatory School in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, St Anselm’s College in Birkenhead, Merseyside, and St Aidan’s Catholic Academy in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, are joining a global sustainability project. The schools from Edmund Rice Group, are collaborating with St Vincent’s High & Technical School, India and CBC St John’s Cape Town to work on pupil projects based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

21K SCHOOL PARTNERS WITH NISAI GROUP (UK) TO INTRODUCES IGCSE PROGRAMME

21K School, one of the leading online schools in India, announced their collaboration with Nisai Global School, UK, for the commencement of the British Curriculum for students of grades 6th to 12th. The online IGCSE program will have foreign teachers conducting live classes online for 6th to 10th grade. The 11th and 12th-grade students will have the opportunity to graduate with IGCSE and get A-level qualifications.

MASSIVE GROWTH IN DEMAND FOR DIGITALLY SKILLED WORKERS IN INDIA BY 2025

A study by Amazon Web Services (AWS) found that India is likely to witness a massive demand for digitally skilled workers by 2025. The numbers are expected to be nine times as many as they are now. The digital skills-in-demand include cloud architecture design and software and web application development, specifically for the manufacturing sector.

THE INDIAN HIGHER EDUCATION ECOSYSTEM WILL BE FLEXIBLE AND INNOVATIVE

Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank”, Union Education Minister, stated that the education ecosystem in India will be both flexible and innovative with new academic reforms being considered for the universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country. The statement came with the release of the FICCI EY Report “Higher Education in India: 2040” at the inauguration of the FICCI Higher Education Summit 2021.

CBSE SYSTEM FOR CLASSES I TO VII IN AP GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS FROM 2021-22

According to a recent release by the state Chief Minister’s office, the government schools of Andhra Pradesh will be affiliated with CBSE for classes I to VII from the 2021-22 academic year. The government plans to extend the system year-wise for classes VIII to X, and eventually, all classes will be under CBSE by the year 2024.

FIRST TOY FAIR IN INDIA TO BE HELD FROM FEBRUARY 27 TO MARCH 2021

India will witness its first Toy Fair, which will be launched on February 27 and run till March 2, 2021. The fair will be held virtually, bringing together children, parents, teachers, and exhibitors to explore, buy, and sell a massive variety of toys from exhibitors across states and union territories. Hamleys, the oldest British multinational toy retailer, will be the title sponsor of the fair.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDIAN STUDENTS BY THE GOVERNMENT OF IRELAND

The Ireland government has announced scholarships worth 1,200,000 EUROS for undergraduate and postgraduate students from India. A virtual showcase held on February 27 will bring together the leading higher education institutions in Ireland for study abroad aspirants across India and Sri Lanka. These institutions offer a range of UG and PG programmes in business, humanities, science, and engineering.

ADVANCED DIGITAL SKILLS WILL BE ON A BOOM IN SINGAPORE JOB MARKET

According to a recent Amazon Web Services survey conducted in Singapore, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, the demand for digitally skilled workers in Singapore’s economy will increase by another 1.2 million by 2025. It would be a massive leap of 55% jump from the existing 2.2 million. The fastest-growing demand could be in the field of advanced cloud skills.

USTA SCHOLARSHIPS WORTH $100,000 TO PROFESSIONAL TENNIS MANAGEMENT STUDENTS

The USTA is all set to be a part of a joint initiative with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and the U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) to offer scholarships worth $100,000 to Professional Tennis Management (PTM) students. The objective is to support students who want to pursue careers in the domain. Ten colleges and universities offer these programmes for students looking to imbibe coaching and business skills specific to the tennis industry.

APPROVAL FOR UNDERGRADUATE CHARGES AND FINANCIAL AID BUDGET FOR 2021-22 BY THE PENN TRUSTEES

The University Of Pennsylvania Board Of Trustees has approved a hike of only 2.8% in tuition fees for the academic session 2021-22. It is the smallest increase in the last fifty years. But the step came considering the financial impact of the pandemic on the students and the university. The board has also approved a financial aid budget of $259 million for undergraduate students.

MAN DONATES A WHOPPING $20 MILLION TO HIS SCHOOL SIXTY YEARS AFTER DROPPING OUT OF COLLEGE

Calvin E. Tyler Jr., who had to drop out of college 60 years ago due to lack of funding, donated $20 million to the school he had once attended. Tyler, along with his wife Tina, started the Calvin and Tina Tyler Endowed Scholarship Fund in 2002 to help college students struggling financially. The fund has helped 222 Morgan State University students with 46 full-tuition and 176 partial scholarships already, and Tyler has decided to increase its value amid the pandemic.
