NEET 2021 TO BE HELD MORE THAN ONCE, DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON- EDUCATION MINISTER

Indian Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank recently stated that the Ministry of Education could conduct the Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021, more than once. The objective is to give students an additional attempt. He also said that the dates for the exam are to be declared soon.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT OF £29M FOR FURTHER EDUCATION STUDENTS IN WALES

The Welsh Government has announced an additional £29m for colleges, with £26.5m to support students in vocational learning programmes. The funding will help these students by offering additional support and eliminating hindrances to the completion of their programmes.

UK universities have come up with scholarships for students coming from the EU countries as an effort to keep up the enrolments from the continent in the 2021/22 academic year. It means that these students will have to pay fees equivalent to home students, or they may get fee discounts.

NI STUDENTS URGED TO BE A PART OF UK’S ERASMUS REPLACEMENT

Northern Ireland students have been urged to join the UK substitute for the Erasmus scheme. The UK is no longer a part of the Erasmus programme following Brexit and has replaced it with a new programme named after the renowned mathematician Alan Turing. NI students are eligible for both these schemes.

In a recent announcement, the UK government has declared an additional £50m in hardship funding as an initiative to extend support to university students struggling financially with the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. The aid is meant to cover international students as well.

According to a new world university ranking system compiled by Singapore-based AppliedHE, the US emerges as a leader with 16 institutions from the country finding a place in the top 20 rankings. The new system serves as a single and transparent benchmark that aims to simplify university comparison for parents, students, employers, and other stakeholders.
